Soulties

So soft, so gentle.
You use them to speak;
You use them to share your thoughts;
You use them to eat—
a tool for a plethora of things.

While others ask much of them,
I ask for one thing.
I ask for one use:
Let them dance.
Dance along my body.

Find the rhythm with my lips;
Sway with my soul.

So let's dance
together
and leave it at that.
When our dance is over,
we move on with our lives.

Teach one another what it means
to please and to be pleased.
